Just a tiny bit of overlap this time. It turns out that I ended it in the middle of a paragraph last night. Oops. This is the last section of chapter seven which, absurdly enough, feels like a huge accomplishment. With a little luck I can get everything done in two more chapters. *nods*

The Luster of Snow, chapter seven, part four )

Ah crap! I just realized the tea I've been sipping all evening is caffeinated. I'm feeling all wired (despite also feeling very sleepy). Looks like there won't be much sleep for me tonight. *sigh*
auntiemeesh: (pip - tialys)
Sorry I didn't get this posted last night - I had no internet all evening. You'd think that would free me up to write scads and scads of fic, but you'd be wrong. Between the time I spent with tech support (they're completely befuddled, don't have a clue why me + dsl = no internet) and the time I spent waiting for it to start working again, I got only just a little bit done once again.

This segment is from Paladin's POV and shows a little slice of what he's going through as he prepares to officially become Thain. Tonight (or the next time I have internet again) there will be more interesting stuff happening, I promise.

Just a little bit for you all tonight, only a little over a page. But still, better than nothing, I hope.

chapter seven, part two )

It's sad, how slowly I write. Of course, part of that might be due to the fact that I can't just sit down and write. I write a paragraph, or maybe a sentence and then go refresh my flist, maybe read something that someone else wrote, tool around the internet awhile, play with my iTunes, and then finally go back to add another few words to the story.

Anyway, I managed to come up with almost three pages of Luster for you all. This particular segment is all the Merry and Frodo show, which I know some of you have been waiting for. It's unbetaed so if you see any typos or obvious inconsistencies please point them out.

It's late and I'm tired but I seem unable to go to bed. So I wrote a little something for Topaz's drabble prompt. It's unbetaed, so if you see any glaring (or even not so glaring) errors feel free to poke me with them.

[livejournal.com profile] topaztook requested Merry, Pippin and Freddy Bolger. Image: fishing on the Brandywine. Thinking about what they've learned about love.

Title: Sailing Down the River Alone
Rating: G
Pairing: reference to Pippin/Diamond
Warnings: involves reaction to non-major character death, which occurs before this begins.
Author's Note: This is a follow up to Plans. The title comes from an Oasis song - Listen Up

Thanks to the kicks, nudges and poking with sharp sticks I received in response to my plea, here is chapter six of Luster, including the snippet I posted a while ago. It's kinda short, but I included a little bit of everything, I think.

[livejournal.com profile] shirebound asked for wee!Pippin-tween!Frodo (or wee!Merry-young!Frodo). This is a little bit of fluff inspired by the gorgeous view outside the library window right now.

Tears and Laughter

It was a near perfect day with a bright blue sky interrupted by small, puffy white clouds; fresh, new-green leaves practically glowed in the strong sunlight and the sound of laughter drifted on a breeze that made those same leaves dance and sway charmingly.

The perfection was marred only by the tear-stained face that presented itself to Frodo. Little Pippin, still unsteady on his feet, had tripped while running through the grass, and had banged his knee.

Scooping the tiny lad up into his arms, Frodo inspected the wee knee for damage, kissed the almost invisible scrape and set the lad back onto his feet.

“All better?” he asked with a warm smile.

“Better,” Pippin replied with a sniffle before starting to run on short legs. “Catch me!” he demanded a moment later in a high, giggly voice. Frodo, unable to resist such a sweet challenge, raced (so slowly he was barely moving) after the laughing child. It truly was a perfect day.

[livejournal.com profile] dreamflower02 has issued a [livejournal.com profile] hobbit_ficathon challenge to write a story in which one or more of the hobbits faces a new beginning.

I had way too much fun with this one, hehe! (Very AU)

It's late, but better late than never, as the saying goes. I've posted The Letter over at [livejournal.com profile] hobbit_ficathon in response to [livejournal.com profile] dreamflower02's challenge to write a fic somehow involving Bilbo.

Last post of the night, folks. Honest, I promise!

I've been working on my untitled Merry!fic and chapter three is ready for your viewing pleasure.

Fic which has no name )

Gotta love Fridays and Mondays. I get nearly three hours break in the middle of the day, and what better time could there be to work on fic?

That being said, here is part two of Work in Progress (that's a sucky title and I may change it at some point, if something else strikes me).

Work in Progress, part two )

Merry fic

I owe [livejournal.com profile] ansothehobbit a fic for stumping me on the story identifying meme a few weeks ago. She requested a fic in which either Estella or Merry's parents have to help him battle the Shadow on their own for the first time. It was supposed to be a drabbly sort of thing, but I liked the bunny so much I decided to run with it. I'm posting it in snippets, so here's the first bit. It's unbetaed and if anyone has suggestions or notices a problem, please shout it out. :)

A Work in Progress )

I've got a story up at [livejournal.com profile] hobbit_ficathon. It's a very short Sam ficlet, set in 1432, called Someone's Been Sleeping in my Bed">. This was in response to [livejournal.com profile] ansothehobbit's challenge to write a fic incorporating the words bed, candle, rose and kitten.

This is for [livejournal.com profile] rabidsamfan, who stumped me with the quote: "Merry watched in amusement as Frodo tried to resist Pippin’s blandishments." (The Culinary Lesson, in case you, like me, can't place it.)

She requested Samfic, taking place either on the run to Rivendell after Weathertop or shortly after arriving there.

Obligatory disclaimer: I don't own these guys, I just play with them from time to time.

Healing )

And now, with work only hours away, I must hie me off to bed, although I almost certainly will not sleep. You'd think that by this point in my life I'd be able to remember to ask for decaf when ordering a mochalatte at eight o'clock at night, but no. I'm stupid that way.

*deskhead*

A drabble

well, it's sort of a Sam drabble. He's in it, at any rate. Written for [livejournal.com profile] rabidsamfan. It took me longer than I'd hoped to find the time to return to this, but here it is.

Fresh Start )

This particular chapter is a bit of a departure from the story, but who could resist wee!Pippin?

I've just posted a story for the [livejournal.com profile] hobbit_ficathon challenge to write something involving a block of wood, a fishing pole and a cat. You can find it here.
