Oh, the things you see while waiting for a bus.
Last month, I got up way early too catch a bus downtown to take the train to Harrisburg for
poppy_queen's baby shower. While waiting for the bus at 6am, I noticed an advertisement for one of the local newspapers. The smaller of the two local newspapers, with a strong focus on Pittsburgh sports and news, very little national or international coverage, as far as I can tell without actually ever reading it. This advert was proudly proclaiming that its circulation was up, while the bigger newspaper's circulation was down. Accompanying this claim was a stack of newspapers, as seen below.

It's not a great picture, I took it with my phone at 6am, but you can probably see clearly enough that the newspapers shown are in, what, German? So the newspaper publisher is either proudly proclaiming that it's German readership is up, or really proud of it's sales in Germany. *shrugs*
Then, this past weekend, I happened to be waiting for a bus in Oakland. There was some work going on down in the sewer lines under the street, and so there was a truck and some guys hanging out on the street.

Here, take a closer look:

Yep, it's a rubber hand, covered in (one would assume) fake blood, hanging from a utility belt on the side of the truck. I love my city. I really do
This butterfly just flew up, landed on the sidewalk at my feet and then just sat there posing for my. I could not resist and took many pictures.

Zoe causes lots of mayhem in our house, but she's pretty darn adorable. Here she is, posing in the underlining of my mattress, which she had just ripped down so that she could crawl inside (to my shame, I have yet to fix it).

The parasol for my big, giant costume extravaganza.

Zoe again. She is very fond of the boxes that I've accumulated the past few weeks.

I had some fortune cookies on the kitchen table. Mal was intrigued. Being the social guy he is, he brought the cookie into the living room to do his sniffing.

I love the fabric I got for my gown, but it's just barely off white and the pattern is so subtle it doesn't really show to good effect in the pics I took of it. But I also really love the fabric I got to make the corset. It's a beautiful upholstery grade damask that's a fairly understated blue with a lively pattern.

And finally, since I've finally figured out how to get the photos off my phone and onto the computer, some pics of the on-ice display at the Penguins game
eve11 and I went to in March.

And yeah, Ivy did the same thing with our boxspring. What is it with kitties?
PS your parasol is definitely the exact one from the episode! We will not match because mine isn't quite the same but it'll still be cool. So says I!

The butterfly is beautiful.
It looks like the workers are hard at work on the cell phones too!
Wish I knew how to get the pictures off my cell phone but I think it won't happen since I can't/don't email from my phone.
