A few more thoughts and a crackpot theory

We didn't see the Eyepatch Lady this week, but we did see Rory dying, again, and Amy being very affected by the mind games of House. I have a theory. I've been brewing this theory since Day of the Moon and now I want to try it out.

In Impossible Astronaut, Amy drops the bombshell that she's pregnant. Then, in Day of the Moon, she tells the Doctor she's not, it was a mistake, it's all just gone away. But the TARDIS is confused on the issue. Day of the Moon is also the first time we see the Eyepatch Lady, looking through a window and saying, "No, I think she's just dreaming." Next time, in Curse of the Black Spot, it's, "You're doing fine, just stay calm."

Who's doing fine? Amy? I actually have two separate but similar theories as to what's going on.

1. Amy is dreaming this whole season while delivering her impossible baby. Or at least, the whole season after Impossible Astronaut. I think that's the cut-off between what was real and what's been happening in Amy's head. In her dreams she doesn't have to be pregnant or in pain from delivery or anything like that, but we still get to see her fear and anxiety through all the horrible things happening to Rory. Canton Delaware killed him in Day of the Moon. He drowned in Black Spot. He aged and died in endless TARDIS corridors in The Doctor's Wife. None of these deaths were real, but Amy responds each time as if they were, as if she's never seen him dead and come back to life before. It would explain why he revived, seemingly all by himself, long moments after she gave up her utterly pathetic and useless attempts at CPR.

or

2. Amy's been put into some sort of virtual reality by the Eyepatch Lady and her people. Possibly to learn about the Doctor, possibly in some attempt to find clues to fight the Silence (we haven't seen the last of them, no way. They went far too quietly and with no fanfare and I didn't buy it for a second) or another baddie. Possibly for some other reason altogether.

Either way, I think most of this season so far has been happening inside Amy's head. I'm starting to get really excited about where things are going and how they're going to work out. A little bit nervous as well, because if either of these theories is even close to being on target, it's going to be a difficult thing for Moffat to pull off without making the "Who killed J.R.?" comparison.

Okay, so that was more speculation about the season in general than to do with The Doctor's Wife specifically, but them's my thoughts and I'm sticking to them.
