Well your pattern is at least a steampunk pattern as opposed to straight Victorian; the overcoat definitely has a goth-y look to it.
For me I think that altering the bodice and just going with the puffy sleeve from the shirtwaist will still make a good line and not clash with the riding boots/split skirt.
Now I just have to see if I can find a good final layer/overcoat that can take being fitted over the puffy sleeve from the shirtwaist, and possibly *under* the big wide lapel from the vest. Maybe a short cape? Gotta think about that.
