I'm late with my Lost thoughts. Oh well. I have them and here they are.
I loved this episode. So much stuff going on, so much of it fun and leading to thoughts of what's coming next. Let me just say, once again, how much I love Hurley! He's learned a lot of things by hard experience, and the consequences of hording wealth (of whatever kind) is only one lesson he doesn't want to repeat. I'm glad Jack finally listened to him and allowed him to do as he wished, even though it was clear Jack didn't really agree. That Beach Feast was the best thing Hurley could have done with that food!
I thought it was so sweet that the first thing Charlie asked for was peanut butter. That boy is hooked but good. *smirk* Which, of course, means that he's going to go apeshit any minute now and screw things up. Which will be fun to watch.
I think the whole 'we have to input this number every 108 minutes' storyline is going to get really boring really fast, so I hope they don't emphasize it too much in the coming episodes. A passing acknowledgment that shifts are changing or someone is heading towards or from the bunker will be more than enough, in my opinion. But they do have that bunker now and there seems to be miles of tunnels so there are plenty of opportunities for exploration, danger, adventure, what have you. Plus a new place to set up camp if they ever feel the need for a more secure home than the caves, although I don't think they'd be able to fit everyone in.
I'm really interested to see how things go with the survivors of the tail of the plane. They've clearly had a much harder time of things than our gang, probably partly because of fewer supplies and no doctor, but it also seems like they may have had more encounters with the 'others'. Bernard is going to want to reunite with Rose (and wasn't Bernard just the cutest thing ever!?), but I think Ana Lucia is really digging her role as unconditional leader of this crew, small and dwindling as it is, and she might not be thrilled at the thought of moving into someone else's camp. But I do think the chemistry between her and Jack should be far more electric than that between Jack and Kate (which pairing I find insipid and lame), so I'm looking forward to that (it's bound to happen eventually). Sparks will definitely fly as they try to work out a new division of leadership. *happy grin*
I loved watching Sawyer get pounded by Ana Lucia. She had him pegged and wasn't going to take any bull from him, but he's so stubborn and proud that he can't just submit when it would save him a beating. I do love Sawyer, even if it's often a 'love to hate' kinda love. :) He's been living this 'tough as nails' life for so long that he doesn't know how to do anything else, even when it would clearly be to his benefit to try.
I'm wondering how long Walt's fate will be withheld from us. Is it going to be the same as it was with Claire last season, where we aren't allowed to see the 'others' from inside and we have to wait for our guys to find him (or for him to escape) before we find out what's been happening. If that were to be the case, would Walt remember what had happened to him. Charlie claimed not to remember anything that happened after he got kidnapped by Ethan, and Claire didn't remember anything of captivity either. Ah, curiousity, it's what keeps bringing me back.

They shouldn't push that 108 thing too far that is true. I am wondering if something actually will happen if they don't push that button but I suppose they won't know as they need to keep faith in something. They have stopped talking about being rescued so having faith in not destroying the island is all that they have now.

It was nice to see a bit more Charlie in this ep. I love it when he gets angry and shouts at people, and I also saw a chink of the Charlie/Claire light this episode. I haven't really liked them much together so far, but Charlie was so adorable I did melt just a little. :)
I was really surprised to find out there'd been so many survivors from the tail - having read a couple of spoilers about the new characters I was expecting Ana Lucia to be the only one. But I was absolutely delighted to see Bernard - he was indeed the cutest thing ever!! I can't wait to see them reunited, not that it will come as any surprise to Rose. :D
As for Sawyer, it doesn't matter how grim and snarly he is, I just love him. Got no intelligent comments to make about him, lol (if I ever had any anyway!)
I thought the psychology of the pushing the button plot was really interesting, but I didn't expect them to keep it going. It's amusing that they have shifts and a job to do now, but I agree that there probably isn't much more mileage they can get out of that for now. I hope Desmond returns. That was an interesting moment he had with Jack in the jungle and I definitely want to see more of him.

Gotta love Sawyer. I was watching some of the early season one eps with CG today and was reminded of just how appealing he can be, with that dimple and those blue, blue eyes. And he knows just how to use them to best effect, too, lol.

What I really would like to see is a cat-fight between Kate and Ana Lucia. Whoo hoo! Let the mud fly!
I loved seeing more of Hurley's backstory. Poor guy.
And I love Bernard. Rose is going to be so happy; and Jack and the rest are going to be so bumfuzzled by her having been right...

You know, you're probably right. Sawyer needs someone who will give him as good as she gets, although I have to say, I prefer Kate with Sawyer rather than with Jack. She and Jack together just makes me grit my teeth, but she and Sawyer have some real chemistry, dysfunctional though it most certainly is, lol.
I'm really looking forward to that moment when Kate and Ana Lucia butt heads. It won't be pretty, but it will be fun. :)
