(no subject)

I got the UND application off successfully this morning. Now I'm feeling a little anxious. I have no idea how long it will be before I hear from them. If I hear from them. I'm a person of very little patience, so I always want results. Right. Now. This waiting around to find out if they're going to be interested is kind of a killer. On the other hand, from the way this job has been posted, they seem a little desperate to get someone, so I'm hopeful that I should at least get an interview out of it. Now I just need to bone up on Great Plains and North Dakota history and maybe learn a little Norwegian (those being the two preferred qualifications I can't really fake my way through, right now).

Norwegian?!!!! Do you think you could get by just learning so Lena and Ollie jokes from Prairie Home Companion?

Well, I don't expect the lack of Norwegian will be a huge stopping block, but if I were to get the job, I'd probably want to take a class or three.

You could also tap into the heritage of Germans from Russia who settled in North Dakota, and learn German instead.

(Wait a minute, I just read it's a job qualification. Never mind. Good luck, though!)

German was the first language I studied when I was in high school, and I've given thought to taking it up again, too.

Well, if you want to learn Norwegian you know where I am, lol. :P

Trust me, if I do end up trying to learn, you'll be the first person I turn to when I need help with my homework. :)
