I got a condolence card from the vet's office, today. That was surprise enough, and then when I opened it, there were handwritten notes from just about everyone who works in the office. I was really touched.

It is Friday, yo. I hate to be cliche, but thank God, I say. Long week.

I got a card and a little angel dog pin from Dr. Besch's office after Pony died. It was a nice touch.

P.S. I included Thor's photo and a brief commemoration of him in my semester-ending lecture on Death and Dying yesterday. So, he is remembered, even by students who never knew him at all. Have you talked to J about him yet?

I tried and failed to get ahold of J, but [livejournal.com profile] griffins_mom managed to track him down. So he knows. It turns out he has a new kitten. I had been under the impression he was getting rid of Thor because his landlord didn't want any pets in the house, but it seems J was just really allergic to Thor. Hopefully he fairs better with the new kitten.

I think the landlord also did not want J to have a cat - until they asked him to take care of a kitten for them for a month or so a few months back. Then they decided that they really couldn't stop him from having a cat. And having a kitten around temporarily made him want one.
