I'm attempting beef stew in the crockpot today.

Ingredients:

.68 lbs beef cubes
1 tbsp flour
salt
pepper
1 beef buillion cube in 1 cup water
two red skinned potatoes
1/2 large white onion
double handful babycut carrots
1 tomato

I wanted to spice it up with a bit of curry but it turns out I don't have any curry powder (my kitchen is woefully understocked due to the fact that I never cook). I have some tikka masala sauce in the cupboard, but that's for chicken and might not blend well. I'm debating. Any thoughts?

I always put a wee bit of cayenne in my beef stew. :)

Ooh, and garlic! :D

Mm, that sounds good. I'm going to have to do a better job of keeping my cupboards stocked, because I don't have either of those right now. :(

I keep a jar of already grated garlic in my fridge so it is there whenever I want or need it. It has solved my problem with having actual cloves of garlic on hand. They are usually with the salad stuff in my stores. They come in various sizes (I have moved from small to medium--tells you something-LOL)

I've got to get me a crockpot one of these days.

They're handy things to have. I should use mine more often than I do.

I think the stew might be better without the tikka masala sauce, but who am I to say? I hope it's delicious, no matter what you decided to do with it!
