One of the things I wanted to get done before Christmas (and obviously failed to do) was get my kitchen counter completely cleared off and unpack a few knick knacks to display there. I finally got around to it this morning. Just a little late. So now I have my hot chocolate set out for the first time since I moved to NH in 2005. I also have a few little tea sets and things out. And, bonus, I found all of my missing Christmas lights in the box. I guess I didn't lose them after all. Yay!

Congratulations on your cute new kitchen counter.

Given your almost-constant illnesses at the time, I think you should be rewarded for even remembering what you wanted to get done before Christmas.

Well, since I always think I should be rewarded for ever getting anything done, I have to agree with you there. :)

It's great when we can get to projects that have been waiting and waiting. Enjoy your new counter space!

Now, if only I could get to the other 900 projects in waiting.

So you are well prepared for Christmas next year! I hope the kitties do not enjoy the knickknacks on your counter too much!

Next year I'll be able to string lights from one end of the house to the other. And if the kitties get too excited by the porcelain on the counter, it will get put in a cupboard and hidden away again. Some day maybe I'll invest in a display cabinet, but that sort of item is way down the list of things I want to spend money on.

Ah the surprises we find when we unpack boxes. Enjoy!

Speaking of, I had a lovely surprise box to unpack from you today! Thank you for the cookbook. I intend to make good use of it.

It's amazing what you can find hidden in boxes, nooks and crannies when you start searching, lol. I'm changing my display too these days.

Oh, and I completely forgot to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you're having a glorious day.

*hugs* :D
