crock pots are wonderful things

I've got beef stew bubbling away in the crock pot and it smells soooooo good. I hope it tastes good, too. It's yet another thrown together recipe.

1 lb beef cubes
2 potatoes
1 large onion
1 large green pepper
handful of babycut carrots
1 can of diced tomatoes
2 cups of beef stock
1 1/2 tablespoons of flour
liberal dash of Worcestershire sauce
salt
pepper
dried basil
dried garlic

It's been cooking on high in the crock pot for almost four hours. I guess it's time to turn it down and let it simmer for a few more. I got a really late start on it, so it won't be ready in time to eat tonight, but I'll have deliciousness for dinner the rest of the week.

Crock pots really are wonderful things. Without mine I'd be reduced to eating peanut butter sandwiches for every meal every day. With mine I can easily expand my repertoire to include lentil soup for at least one meal and usually two meals each day. It's such a more varied diet!

Yes indeed! Variety is the spice of life. Curry powder, ginger, cumin, and an assortment of peppers help a lot, too!

Hmmm! sounds yummy, I hope you enjoy it! Makes me realize I don't have much here to eat and will probably need to make a trip to the grocery. I can't wait for us to have a food coop around the corner.
