I made it through the party in one piece and even had a good time, much to my surprise. I spent most of the evening hanging out with my old coworkers from the infant/toddler program and they are a fun and silly bunch of people. The wine flowed freely (the pomegranate punch was especially yummy and the eggnog was the best I've had, but mainly because it was mostly all alcohol with a heavy topping of whipped eggwhites) there was plenty of food for all, and I left once the games portion of the evening started. I thought I was going to have to walk home but I ran into a friend getting ready to leave and she offered me a ride, so that was perfect timing.

The plan for this weekend is to find my Christmas spirit. Decorate, do some shopping, maybe even bake some cookies!

I had so much Christmas spirit in the fall that mine's a bit depleted. Perhaps because what I need to do now is clean my apartment before I decorate? I think once that task (Sisyphean ordeal) is over, my holiday cheer will come back full force :)

I haven't really managed to find that elusive 'christmas spirit' yet. I played some music and watched a movie, but still haven't managed to pull those boxes of decorations out of the closet.

Good luck finding your Christmas spirit. Perhaps it's in the utensil drawer with that still-sort-of-new rolling pin, cookie cutters, etc!

I'm glad you had a good time. "Mandatory fun" with work colleagues isn't always that much fun. :)

My head boss loves to party. She's a little over 80 years old and she still has a few drinks and lights up the dance floor with her husband every year. We need more of that and less of the party games, in my opinion.

Have a peppermint latte....that should jazz you up. And sing out loud. And think about Mal ? and the catnip last year :)

Mm, peppermint latte. Maybe I'll head out early tomorrow so I can swing by Starbucks. I haven't made it out today - it's cold out there!

The weekend passed in much the same way as all my weekends. Mostly unproductive, but very relaxing.
