nothing of substance to be found here

This is another one of those 'so sleepy!' posts. I think I shot myself in the foot by putting a movie in the dvd player too early in the evening. The movie's over, so it must be bedtime, right?

I am so looking forward to having a three day weekend this week. Yay for the Fourth of July!

I love long weekends! I also love sleep, but it looks like I will be sitting up watching some SGA tonight. I am just now starting season three. I didn't watch it when it was on so I am new to it all. I'm having a great time and I love Rodney and Carson. I hate getting hooked on things that are already over!

Yay for the SGA love!

I have to admit, the end of season two and the beginning of season three is a bit of a low point, in my opinion, in the show. But that's mainly because I don't like the retrovirus storyline at all. Season three has some great episodes, though. :)

Have you tried Merlin yet?

I didn't like the retrovirus story-line either. I think Rodney and Carson were the only reasons I managed to watch through those. I just watched the end, or what I hope is the end of that bit.
I followed it up with a very funny Carson episode in which everyone but Shepherd falls under the spell of this guy who has taken a potion to make himself irresistable! When Carson was crying because he'd been forced to leave the guy, I thought I'd die laughing. Oh, and Dr. Weir was great in that. I was afraid she was going to sleep with the guy or marry him before Shepherd could straighten things out.
That one was priceless! It took away the bad taste from the retrovirus plot. That bit was just creepy. I was not expecting to side with the Wraith on anything but I did during parts of that!

I have the first four episodes of Merlin on tape and I hope to give it a try this weekend over the holiday. Do you like it?

Irresistable was a great episode! Carson's blubbering and Sheppard just hits him with a stern, "Buck up!" And Sheppard's look of utter betrayal when Rodney falls under Lavin's spell. Hee!

I do like Merlin. It took me a little while to get past the '60s Doctor Who level special effects. There's a sort of Fantasia-like scene early in episode two that was just too much for me, and I walked away mid episode. But then I came back later and forced myself to get past that one scene and fell in love with the rest of the show. It's cheesy and the special effects are crap, but it's got cute boys being boys, and girls laughing at them, and a thread of seriousness running through everything that keeps me coming back for more.

I loved it when Ronin was sitting there like a school girl hanging on Levin's every word. The look on his face was so funny! I just really enjoyed that one.

I am planning to give Merlin a try later tonight if all goes well. I'll let you know if I make it past the fantasia part. LOL
