What landlords are for

I opened up the dishwasher to load it up and the whole thing rocked forward. Apparently the screws that stabilized it had come out. I put the one I could find back in but also filed a maintenance request to have them come out and find another screw for it.

At the same time, I've been noticing a growing stench in the apartment which seems to be coming from the drain in the kitchen. I've cleaned, run the garbage disposal to try to get rid of anything lurking in there, cleaned again. Still really foul odor wafting through the apartment. Joy! So I've put in a second maintenance request for them to look at that as well.

The dishwasher doesn't bug me as much, but I really hope they're able to take care of the drain smell by tomorrow so I don't have to put up with it for long.

In brighter news, I did manage to get a decent amount done today - groceries bought, laundry washed and dried (still waiting to be folded), area rugs vacuumed, and yoga done. I also got made my Uhaul reservation in preparation for moving. Getting closer every day!

While you're waiting for maintenance, pour some dishwashing liquid into the drain and run the garbage disposal again. That often helps with odors.

Thanks for the tip! The odor seems to have waned at the moment. Whether it's truly gone or simply been alleviated by the exhaust fan and the air conditioning fan running all afternoon remains to be seen.

Yay, you, for getting so much done, even with the foul odor. I hope the maintenance people help you out quickly.

The foul odor has at least temporarily, and hopefully permanently, abated. So now if I could just stir myself to fold the laundry (ha! fat chance) I'd have everything on my list done.
