The cure for what ails ya

Two vodka cranberries and a brownie sundae later, I'm feeling no pain. Tonight was girls' night out and I had a great time. I was feeling pretty lousy and down on myself last night, but as always a good (or at least passable) night's rest did a good job of getting me jump started and a night out with fun folks put the kibosh on the gloom and doom.
It was a good group of women out tonight, everyone ready for fun and the abusing of all the men we know.
lyda_pearl,
whtmtnwmn, T and I played a couple games of pool. It was possibly the worst pool anyone had ever seen at the Millyard (the bar we went to) but we didn't care, we laughed and laughed and managed to pretty much at least keep the cue ball from flying off the table and smacking into the crew at the other table.
LP and I ate at home before heading out so I felt justified in ordering dessert - I haven't had a brownie sundae in more years than I can remember and I haven't actually finished a brownie sundae since I was about twelve, but I managed it with ease tonight. Of course, there is a consequence to every action and the overdose of sugar is leaving me feeling oh so disgusting right now, but I really don't give a damn. It was so worth it. *g*
Midway through our pathetic but entertaining attempt at pool, a guy appeared at our table, talking with the non-pool playing women, and he was eventually brought over and introduced to us (S presented us almost like an all-you-can-eat buffet - here you go, pick which woman you want). I'd been told a couple of weeks ago that a mutual acquaintance wanted to hook us up, so it was no great surprise that we ended up exchanging phone numbers at the end of the evening. I doubt if we're any great match, but he knows I'm leaving town at the end of May and he still asked me out, so I'm guessing he isn't looking for any great match, just someone to do stuff with (and get your minds out of the gutter, please, I'm not talking about *that* stuff).
We didn't stay out all that late, but I'm sleepy and need to drink a gallon or two of water to wash all the sugar out of my system before bed.
Now I'm gonna put my jammies on, watch some Scifi Friday and go to sleep. Pleasant dreams, everyone.
