All the schools have snow days today. We only had seven kids until almost twelve, when two more came in, and then three went home after lunch, so it's been a really calm day. I think this is the first (maybe second) snow we've had all year that accumulated to much of anything more than an inch (at least here in the city). So it was great fun to bundle the kids up and take them out to the field to play. Of course, first I had to convince Team Leader that it wasn't too cold for kids bundled up to the nines in snowpants, etc, but once she agreed, we were good to go. And even she eventually admitted it was a good decision to go out. The kids had a blast. We didn't take the sleds with us, but they improvised, first trying to slide down the hill on their butts and then just rolling down the hill. Lots of happy, red-cheeked kids when we came in.
Now we're getting some ugly rain/freezing rain something or other grossness, which is expected to make things really unpleasant this afternoon and evening, so we've got an early closing. I get to go home at four. Yay!
