Jun. 10th, 2008 09:11 amJust when I was about to give up in disgust and say to the gym, 'I'll see you in October,' I managed to have a decent run. Thank god! 3.25 miles, in slow-motion but motion none the less. I feel much more human this morning, as a result. As I've mentioned, oh, a few times the past week or so, I really don't thrive in typical Pittsburgh summer weather. And trying to run when some days it seems I can barely stand isn't my idea of fun. But taking a three or four month break hardly seems like the answer (although it would probably be good for my foot - falling arches are a bitch, let me just say). Staying inside on the treadmill seems like a good compromise - today it felt slightly cooler and breezier and I was almost tempted (except for the humidity) but luckily we used the treadmills anyway. Thunder, lightning and a torrential downpour were all part of my view out the window as I ran.
It's supposed to be like that off and on all day. I'm wondering what the verdict will be for our scheduled fieldtrip to one of the local playgrounds. Seems reasonable to assume it would be cancelled, but you just never know.
