Gone swimming
Sep. 12th, 2008 07:03 pmI came home from work with the idea that I'd take a nice long, relaxing bath to unwind after a week of crying babies and poopy diapers.
Well, it's been raining all day and my bathroom is completely flooded. The window has a really bad leak at the top of the frame. I've told the landlady, she had someone come out and look at it a couple months ago, but he said he didn't see where water could be getting in. And because it's been mid summer, we haven't had much of any rain, and what we have got has been very light, and so, of course, the window hasn't leaked, leading everyone to think it had been fixed.
So today, we've got fall weather. There was a steady rain all day, sometimes pretty heavy, and the room was all wet when I got home. I called my landlady and told her it was happening again, and cleaned up the mess. Just now, however, when I went back in, it was even worse, water practically pouring in, and no way to catch it all. I have a towel on the windowsill, that is completely soaked, and the floor has standing water on it. Because it's dripping right down the window, there's nowhere to put a bucket or cup or anything to catch the drips. It drips down the window, hits the frame and splashes in fifty different directions, including the toilet, before finally hitting the floor as an all over spray. Not only is this a mess, but it's going to ruin the floor. :(
Edited to avoid unintentional offense to botanists.
