Oct. 20th, 2008 09:58 pmI did sewing! Well, a very tiny little bit of sewing, in truth. But some. And more importantly, I figured out how to approach the problem, which was what was holding me up, so now it's just a simple matter getting the stitches in. Which would go a lot quicker if I had a sewing machine, but that's a quest for another day.
Mal the Destructo Kitty gets very excited when I pull the sewing stuff out. He's pretty convinced that those pins would make a great toy if he could only get them out of that thing they're stuck in (whether it happens to be the pin cushion or the fabric makes no difference to him). I ended up locking him in the bathroom for at least an hour and a half, poor guy, for his own safety. He was better after that, barely sniffed at the pin cushion and kept right on going. (He was very cute, though. When I first pulled the skirt out to work on it, he came right over, stretched out half on my lap, half on the skirt and started purring. He almost never wants to snuggle so it was very sweet.)
So, it looks like Date Guy and I are gonna get a third date. Geez, it's been a good long while since I've managed date #3 with anyone (that would be the Salsa dancer two years ago, who wanted me to spend all my weekends at his place, after we'd known each other two weeks). I think I'm gonna push for Dave & Buster's or something like that - something that gives us something to do beyond sit and eat. Of course, when this date might happen is still anyone's guess, but I'm not gonna stress about that right now. Plenty of time for that later, right?
