Not bad for a Saturday
Dec. 21st, 2008 12:13 amTookie made sure I was up to feed her at her regular time this morning, weekend be damned. I had a lot I wanted to get done today, though, so it was probably a good thing. And I even got some of my stuff done.
The kitchen is now all tidied up and only a few dishes left in the sink. The floor still needs to be mopped, but that can wait until next week. I also managed to get three loads of laundry washed and dried.
Tomorrow I'm hanging with
eve11 for an afternoon of food, shopping and possibly a movie. At some point during the day, though, I need to fold the laundry and get the rest of the apartment tidied up. I'm having a pet sitter come in every day this week and I would hate to have the place looking like a dump.
I got lots of mail this week. Lovely, much appreciated cards came from
atomicpagan,
ctegan,
ani_no_mouse and
eve11, who included a funny little SGA cartoon in hers. It cracked me up and I cackled over it for a good few minutes. And today, I got a box in the mail from Little Bro. He was given my name in the family gift exchange, but since it was done via email and he isn't on the net much these days, I wasn't sure he actually saw the list or bothered to find out who he'd been given. Not a biggie, since my big gift this year is getting to spend time with friends and family in NH, but it was nice to find out he did get the message. Now I have these two wrapped packages sitting in my closet and I'm trying to decide if I should just go ahead and open them, or pack them along with everything else I'm taking on my trip.
Speaking of, I just found out that the airline now charges a fee for all checked luggage, and they only allow one carry-on bag. That seems a little unfair, if you ask me. It's a bit of a trek to the bus stop that will take me to the airport and I was really hoping to avoid lugging a suitcase around, but now I'll have to, and pay for the privilege, as well. On the bright side, I at least managed to avoid booking a crack-of-dawn flight this time, so I won't have to leave until early afternoon. This pleases me greatly.
And finally, I had babysitting this evening. Easy kids who go to bed early, which made me happy. Also, quiche and tomato soup for supper, oatmeal raisin cookies and home-made chex mix for dessert, followed by Stargate SG-1 (Redemption) and then SGA (Doppleganger) on WBGN. It was kind of cool, seeing a McKay then-and-now situation. And seeing Carter's approach to him then and now.
And look at that, it's after midnight. I should go to bed before I turn into a pumpkin.
