Merlin fic

I bring you fic on this lovely Saturday afternoon.

Title: The Darkly Closing Clouds
Fandom: Merlin
Rating: PG-13 (some slightly mature subject matter)
Pairings: Merlin/OC, Arthur/Gwen, all off-screen as it were
Word count: approx. 6600 words
Summary: Arthur and Merlin are not much more than boys when they first meet, but everyone has to grow up sometime.

A/N: This is basically my attempt to reconcile the Camelot 90210 approach to Arthurian legends as seen on the BBC (which I love, don't get me wrong), with something approximating the relationship Merlin and Arthur have in the more traditional legends.

Man, I'm seriously pissed off that NBC isn't showing the hockey game tonight. This means I'm stuck listening to it on the radio. Better than nothing, but not good. :(

Third win in a row for the Pens, once again in OT, and it finally put paid to the first goal curse. It was a tense game, with no goals until the Pens got on the board at the beginning of the second period. The lead went back and forth but the Pens were up 3-2 until Ovechkin scored with something like four minutes left in regulation. The Pens couldn't get anything going and the game went into overtime.

A Penguins power play early in the overtime worked in their favor and Malkin got a goal with one second left on the pp. So awesome! Back to Pittsburgh on Monday. The Penguins need to pull off one more win to clinch the series.

Oh yeah, the Baby Pens won tonight as well.
