Is this week over yet?
Jun. 3rd, 2009 08:47 amI just stubbed my toe. On the toe end of a steel-toed boot. It wasn't that bad right at first but now (about forty minutes later) it's just getting more and more painful. I was all groggy and mostly still asleep when I got out of bed and Wham, there you go. That woke me up all right.
It's not broken or anything, I can curl it under but it doesn't like to be bent up (the way one does when one walks) or wiggled to the side. It's probably going to be sore for a while. *sigh*
Every time I do something like this, I remember the summer in high school when my Mom took Younger Brother and myself to the beach. She went down to jump at the very edge of the water, hit nothing but water and the sand, and came back with her toe jutting off in a very unnatural direction. Poor mom. She found a doctor to visit, but then had to drive us home (about three hours) with a very broken toe. You could tell she was a very experienced mom because she somehow managed to be very calm about the whole thing.
