It's sad to see yet another weekend coming to an end. I always feel like I would get so much more done if I only had three days. Of course, on those rare three day weekends, I generally just spend more time being lazy and get little to nothing productive done, so I don't suppose it's a very valid thought.

Friday night, [livejournal.com profile] eve11 came over for a mini movie marathon, as inspiration for our 50s movie-theme costumes. We picked up some sushi and (non-alcoholic) ginger beer from Whole Foods, Netflix kindly provided the movies, and my apartment provided the cats. We watched Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Attack of the 50 Ft Woman, both the original 1950s era black and white versions of the movies. The movies were very entertaining. Not necessarily good, but definitely entertaining. The sushi was very yummy and the ginger beer was a good accompanying taste.

Yesterday was my typical lazy Saturday. I did not much of anything until evening, at which point I babysat one of my usual kids.

Today, I managed for a second week in a row to be productive in the morning. Got up, went to Panera for a breakfast souffle and coffee (a vital element to a productive morning), bought groceries and got home by 11:30. Managed to wash some dishes, do some laundry and make a start on my costume. I now have something that (mostly) works as the halter top and will work on the skirt portion of the costume another day.

And now I'm once again being lazy. If my laptop will just keep working - it's already overheated and shut itself down once this afternoon, due to me foolishly playing parts of a dvd for screen caps, and then running music on iTunes - I might settle back and read some fic. Remix/Redux 7 is live and there look to be some good stories.
