I has a corset
Jul. 11th, 2010 08:33 pmAfter much toil and trouble, I've finished the corset, except for the busk which is getting holes put in it by someone with a drill. I think it looks pretty good (as long as you don't look too closely).

I had the string in and tried slipping it on, but I still can't raise my arm properly to slip clothing over my head and there was no wriggle room to do it one arm at a time, so I'll have to wait until
eve11 and I have a fitting sometime later this week. The shoulder straps will tie down with ribbon that I'll put on at the same time, since I don't know how close they'll fall to the bodice.
I'm pretty sure it's going to continue being too small all summer, but I'll make a panel to put behind the lacing to make it look finished. That should be easy enough.
Next weekend I get to start looking at the gown pattern and putting that together!
