This is a cool wedding. The iPad thing is 'meh' but everything else about it is just the sort of thing I'd love to be invited to. The bride made her own dress (the hem is a little wonky, which you can see in one of the pics - hems are HARD, which I learned doing the fifties dress last year), they got married outdoors under a park gazebo, the couple had their own unique style and didn't subvert it in order to have a traditional look. Very fun!

The dress is done! I finished the underskirt this evening. It fits and everything. I'm very bloaty bloaty today so it will fit better in a week or two, but it fits, which is the important thing.

I'm hoping to enlist [livejournal.com profile] westwindschild's aid this weekend to help with a full fitting of all the layers, to see how it all hangs together. I'm pretty sure I'll have to hem up the underskirt a little more, and I'm curious to see how long it's going to be with the bum roll, or if I even want the bum roll. As it is without, it's the perfect length for the boots I want to wear with it, but if it's a little too short for that, I also have a pair of flats I could wear.

It's very much a Princess Dress, which isn't what I intended when I started out, and isn't what the character I'm doing is, but it's totally a Princess Dress. All I need now is a tiara and Prince Charming.
