Nov. 2nd, 2010 07:17 pmI did my civic duty after work, stopped at the polling place and cast my vote. I had almost no opinion about any of the candidates in any of the races, so I just did a straight party line. I don't know if that's actually any better than not voting at all, which is what I very nearly did. But it's done.
Work, being also a polling place, had a bake sale going on in the main lobby and apparently I just completely lost my ever-loving mind today. Bought a brownie to start the day, ate a couple of cookies and a cupcake that one of the parents donated to the room, and then accepted a few more things to bring home at the end of the day (they're always pretty much giving the leftovers away by six o'clock) so I had another cookie after supper. I feel a little sick now, and I'm going to try to avoid junk food for the rest of the month to make up for today's obscene splurging.
