Jan. 19th, 2012 02:09 pmI've been struggling to fight off/get over a cold for at least a month now. Yesterday I gave up and went to the clinic to make sure I don't have a sinus infection.
Good news is, I don't have a sinus infection and don't need antibiotics. But I do have some sort of allergies, whether seasonal or something else. This has probably been going on for a long time, because I've been stuffed up most of the time for a couple of years now and just haven't paid it much attention. Only now, it's got to the point where I've got fluid in my ears, etc. So I get to take Flonase and, in theory, Zyrtec.
I took the first Zyrtec last night and may be switching over to Claritin from here on out. I really didn't like the Zyrtec at all. I was really restless all night long and didn't get any good sleep until after three am. That, combined with a few other side effects, pretty much guarantee that I won't be using it regularly.
Now I'm struggling, because on top of that, I had to get up early since I switched shifts with someone at work. *sigh* Naptime is killing me.
On the plus side, though (and this is probably due to the Zyrtec more than the Flonase) I don't feel like my ears are underwater anymore. I haven't been able to hear functionally with any sort of loud background noise (I work with three-year-olds, there is always loud background noise) for a couple of weeks. It's been frustrating, to say the least.
