Spring has arrived with a vengeance this year. It's only mid-March but the outside world looks like it should be mid-April at least. It's warm, the trees are blossoming, all the daffodils are up, I'm seeing more tulips every day, and the bugs are out. We had a gigantic carpenter bee hovering around the climber on the playground yesterday. The kids spent the entire afternoon shrieking in gleeful panic every time they saw it. They'd scream, run away, call all their friends over, approach the bee and then repeat the cycle. In theory, the bees that are generally seen about are the males, who don't have stingers, and while the females do have stingers they are supposed to be docile and won't sting unless you actually grab them. But they all seem to like hovering right at face level, wherever you want to go. And since they're gigantic, and bees, they're a bit menacing. But I'd rather deal with them than the yellow jackets any day of the week.
Tomorrow is pajama party day. I get to wear my pjs all day at work. We'll have pizza (yum!), watch a (very short, at least pseudo-educational) movie, maybe even have popcorn. And then after work,
eve11 and I get to use the Penguins tickets I got for my birthday. It should be a fun night out. The co-worker who gifted me the tickets will also be there with her husband, and team leader may be there as well so it will be like a party!
