fandom of various types
Sep. 15th, 2014 09:52 amBetween the opening of the Penguins' Rookie Tournament and the ongoing pennant race for the Pirates, there was a lot of sports this weekend. The rookie Pens are making a good showing of themselves. They've won both games they've been in so far, with one more game to go tomorrow afternoon.
The Pirates spent most of the weekend looking a bit blah and uninspired but did manage a few exciting innings. Saturday's two exciting innings meant a comeback run that fell just short, with a 4-6 loss. Yesterday's two and a half exciting innings included a rare 'around the horn' triple play (first ever at PNC Park) which jump-started the team. They then went on to score 7 runs in the next two innings before settling back down into good defensive play to win the game 7-3.
With my attention firmly on happy sports thoughts, I totally failed to watch Doctor Who. I have it sitting on my computer, waiting for me though, and tonight will most likely be the best opportunity of the week for watching. I'll have to gear myself up a bit though because this one looks like it's a bit on the creepy side, never my favorite type of DW.
