Oct. 2nd, 2014 07:32 pmThe Pirates entered the Postseason yesterday with a ramped up crowd behind them. Four innings in, Volquez gave up a grandslam to the Giants and the game was, for all intents and purposes, over. When the dust settled, the Giants had won 8-0 and the Pirates looked fairly awful in the losing. Oh well, following the Pirates gave me something fun to think about during the hockey off-season, but hockey is starting back up again. So now it's time to wonder exactly what Evgeni Malkin is up to, whether our boys in black and vegas gold will be able to avoid the injury bug, and how all the new pieces of the puzzle will fit together.

eve11 invited me up to her place last night to watch the game and hang out. We had a nice time in spite of our team's dismal performance. Unfortunately, I had to work the 7:30-3:30 shift today, which meant a very early start. The upside to an early shift is getting out of work early. Of course now it's barely 7:30, I've already been home from work for over three hours and I can barely keep my eyes open. I'd go to bed right now if I thought I'd actually sleep anything like through the night, but I suspect I wouldn't sleep at all.
After talking with Eve a couple of times, I've done what I have steadfastly said I wasn't going to do, create a Twitter account. @cardickfairy is the handle if you're interested. I've had this idea floating around in my head for well over a year now and it's time to do something about it. I'll be making another post, tomorrow or over the weekend, explaining all about Car Dicks and the Car Dick Fairy, but it will have to wait until I'm not so exhausted I can't keep my eyes open.
