Spring Break
Apr. 2nd, 2015 09:56 pmFirst day of Spring Break and we, appropriately enough, had a thunderstorm and lots of rain, as well as temps in the upper sixties. First thunderstorm of the season and it was a pretty mild one, but it was enough to make me just as happy I was at home instead of all cooped up with a bunch of restless three and four year olds.
I got out for a good run with
eve11 this afternoon, and in spite of the rain we ran on the track. I have lost all ability to judge my speed or pace myself in the past couple non-running years, so as always happens in this situation, I ran faster than I probably should have. But I made my two miles and it felt good, as always, to triumph over inertia and a mild case of 'I had three sips of coffee earlier and now I feel shaky and unsteady.'
Tomorrow evening I'm going out to Eve's place. She has an E League hockey game tomorrow night that I'll probably watch, then join her and her friends out for beers. Then on Saturday, we're road-tripping to Columbus to watch the Pens/Blue Jackets game and have some adventures.
It's a short little vacation, but it's a vacation and I'm excited to be getting out of town for a few days.
lyda_pearl is going to be keeping an eye on the cats so I don't have to feel the usual pet-momma anxiety. Yay vacation!
