looking for advice

Hey all you clever people, I'm looking for some hair help. I want to go all punky and wild for my Halloween costume and I'm not sure what's the best thing for a temporary color change. I don't want to go into work for the following month with purple hair. Any suggestions?

Use fake hair! I'll bet a party or costume place has some great funky hair extensions.

shirebound has a good idea - cheap wigs are also readily available from places like bon-ton or kaufmans.
If you decide to go with color, there are lots of color washes that only last 2 or 3 shampoos, and they are usually available in pretty funky colors. Please be sure to take pix of your costume!

Koolaid will dye your hair pretty well for a day, if you have light enough hair.

Hm, I do have a blond wig that I could dye if all else fails. What I'm really after though, is to spike out my own hair and then put some temporary color in it. :)

I have a very light blond wig left over from another costume that I could always dye if worse comes to worst, but I'd rather do my own hair if possible. And don't worry, I always take pics of my costumes. :)

One of the little girls at work dyed her hair with Koolaid (mom was dying her hair, kid wanted to, too, so mom provided an impermanent solution). Turned out, it didn't wash out all that well. The kid had pink hair for a couple of months before it grew out enough to cut it all off and still have a decent cut, lol.

Halloween

Here's an idea! The election is getting closer! My suggestion: Let's all dye our hair to go with our political persuasion for the next couple weeks. Right now my hair is purple because I'm neither one. Vote in my poll at peoplepowergranny.blogspot.com, and let me know what color you would like to be in the next few weeks. And I would suggest it not be black or white!
