I thought about expanding this, going through several permutations. That's what kept me from posting it earlier. But then, that would require a LOT of thinking and debating with myself about the nature of destiny, inevitability versus our ability to change our futures. Would Merlin, being Merlin, remember anything of his previous timelines, or even just that moment of overlap where he makes the change in his current life? Or would he, being presented with the same situation and having the same information, just keeping infinitely making the same pair of choices? It all made my head hurt and I decided to just post as is, lol.
