Day of the Moon speculation

So, there's this dad at work who's a big Who fan, which I found out last week. Now we get to have a little Who pow-wow on Mondays after the new eps air. Today he shared the theory he and his wife have got regarding the little girl. They think she's the Doctor's granddaughter, with Amy being his daughter with River. Hm, I like it.
I've been mulling over a theory about the Doctor's death. I don't know if it works at all, but hey, theories don't always have to be sensible. I wonder if it's possible that when the Astronaut interrupted the Doctor's regeneration it wasn't to kill him so much as pause the regeneration. Maybe the astronaut captured the Doctor's spirit, essence, what have you, while he was between bodies. Sort of stored his psychic energy in a containment unit somewhere in the suit, so that he can be fully regenerated later.
I think my favorite bit in the episode was the woman Amy sees in the window, with the weird Borg eye decoration, saying whatever about 'she's dreaming.' I think it would be awesome if we get to see more little snatches of that throughout the season. Maybe it's Amy who's dreaming, but if so, for how long? Ever since we've known her? Or at some point in her relationship with the Doctor, maybe since the Big Bang? Who is that weird lady and what is her relationship to Seven of Nine? I can't wait to get maybe a hint or two of answers and I'm sure a ton more questions next week.
