Well, I think the interview went fairly well. I was able to give good solid answers to all of the questions they had, asked intelligent questions of my own, and feel very confident about it. They are getting ready to go through NAEYC reaccreditation this fall and I've been through the process twice, so I think that makes me a good candidate as well (it's a bitch of a process and everyone gets totally stressed out at the very mention of it - can't wait for the chance to do it again, only a year after I just did it!)

I got a tour of the toddler site - it is very nicely set up with lovely new equipment, a big comfy sofa for adults to sit on with babies and lots of great toys. The program is only September through May, and it's no more than 20-29 hours a week, but that would be okay. I could work at the coffee shop as well. :)

They won't be making any immediate decisions though, so I have to wait until the beginning of next week to hear if they liked me as much as I liked them.

Yay *dances*

Sounds like it would be a wonderful position.

It would be better than I thought at first. I had been under the impression that it was an assistant position, because it was part time, and that's a real step back for me, but it turns out there are no full-time positions at the center, and it is actually a teacher position. So, get to be a full teacher, but only have to work a half day (or possibly three full days or something like that).

Now if only I could do that and still get full-time pay. :P

sounds like a positive thing... a bit of coffehouse to break things up... could be very good...

I would really like to get the coffeehouse job. I went down there again today, touched base with them to see if they'd hired someone, and they still haven't even looked at the applications, so it might be a while before I hear anything.

Good luck with this job and with the coffee house one. Now that you are a licensed driver, why limit yourself to working in one place?

Exactly! I don't even have to limit myself to Berlin anymore; with my own transportation, I can look a little further afield and maybe even find a job one of these days.

Oh, this sounds promising! I'm so glad things are working out for you. Again, this won't interfere with plans for September, right? Right? :-)

No fear. I've bought my plane ticket, I've been working on costuming stuff since when, January or February? I'm going to Dragon*Con. It might make them a little cranky if they do offer me the job, because it starts at the end of August, but that's just the way it goes.

I did forget all about mentioning that while I was at the interview, though, so busy concentrating on all the other stuff as I was. Oh well, if I hear from them next week, I'll talk it over with them then and see what they say.

I sent a message for Pipwise to give to Billy on his birthday inviting him to come to D*C since he'll be FL the weekend before anyway and said we'd show him around. LOL! You think he'll come?

It's a lovely idea. :) The problem is that he's in Florida the weekend of the 27-28 (I think) and then he's flying to England for the Fellowship Festival on the 29th. So that kinda scotches the idea of him being in the neighborhood. :( Ah well, maybe he'll come anyway.

btw, I am working on the chapter you betaed for me, but it's going slow. I'll try to get it to you as soon as I can.
