I've got to do it sometime...
Jul. 15th, 2005 05:52 pmI was spared from total laziness today by a massive grass-cutting effort.
lyda_pearl and Mr. P have a lot of grass. There's a fenced in area for the dogs to run about in, there's a strip along the street, a section beside the house and then a fairly large portion behind the house which goes all the way down to the river. Technically, the part behind the dog's yard is a city park, but the city doesn't tend it, so P and Mr. P take care of the part behind their house.
I didn't get it all done today, because I really am basically just lazy, but I got the dogs' yard, the front and the side done. The back can wait until some time over the weekend.
I'm now gearing myself up to make my first solo trip in the Subaru. I have to go return some books to the Library and a movie to the video store. It's silly to be nervous, because I've driven there before, but never by myself and I particularly don't like the parking lot at the video store. Right, enough procrastination. Time to go.
EditWell, the thing about facing your fears is that it makes you feel...afraid. Yes, I managed to survive my trip to the video store without any ill adventures, but it was a bit nerve-wracking. I'm a little jellyfish at heart and I quiver at the slightest provocation, so I'm still quivering a bit, lol. I will get used to this whole driving thing eventually, I'm sure. Hopefully long before dying of ripe old age.

Date: 2005-07-17 06:23 am (UTC)Getting ready to move away from Austin has made me wonder how I managed to get in the car and drive away from Meesh in Pgh. I'm glad I don't have any goodbyes like that one this time!
