Woot!

Strike one sewing project off the list. I just finished Chiana's blue quilted vest. It's not perfect, it bunches up a little funny when I have the laces through it, but it's done, and it's recognizable, at the very least! *VBG*

I've decided to forgo a wig for Chiana. I'll just get a couple inches trimmed off my hair and goop it out. I should be able to find a hair spray or something similar that will turn my hair white temporarily. Again, it won't be perfect, but it's the best alternative I can come up with.

Tonight I'll start on Pippin's shirt and hopefully I'll have that done before work tomorrow. It should go pretty quickly *fingers crossed, knock on wood*

Still to go:

Chiana's hat
Chiana's gloves
Chiana's pants (adding strips of stretchy yellow fabric to grey stretchy pants)
Chiana's boots (add grommets and lacing)
Pippin's shirt
Pippin's vest

Time left: I'd like to get all the costume stuff done and in the mail by August 20th, so that gives me 12 days or so to get everything done. Plenty of time. *glances at watch, takes a deep breath and gets back to work).

lol. Congrats on the vest! Also, we do have another option for the wig, and that is to take the black Fe'Tor's sister wig that I have, and see if we can cut it and turn it into a Chiana wig with some paint. I'll look into it if you'd like. Barring that, we could also try some body makeup in your hair -- reminds me I have to get some white. And some sealer.

That's pretty tempting. I've come to the frustrating conclusion that I just don't have the money or the time to mail away for a wig. I'd rather not cut my hair, but if I can't find something else, that will be the only option I'm left with. Let me know if you think the wig option would work. :D

You are way to busy. All that sewing! I wish I could sew, but I am dreadful at it. Can't wait to see a picture of your Chiana hair! I would love it if my hair did that.

It's something to keep me busy. Otherwise I'd be sitting and staring at the walls all day (which is pretty much what I did for the first two months I was here). I'm not able to be this busy for a sustained period of time though. By the time Dragon*con is over, I'll be happy to be working and not doing any crafty stuff for a little while. :D

white hair spray paint... at a costume shop... when in H/s and college I was always cast as an old guy, so yeah, white and silver hair paint stuff in the hair, comes out pretty easy. PLUS + superior holding power!?!

eve11 may be able to save my hair, however. She has an old costume wig that she thinks we may be able to cannibalize, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that.
