If they have penetrated so far into my subconscious after just one intensive weekend, I wonder how [livejournal.com profile] eve11 fared for the six months or so that she was working on that costume.

So the dream was, we were at the convention and it was time to go home. We were walking through a room that had been set up as a bake sale and someone at one of the tables called us over. They were putting closing up for the day and offered to give us some of the leftover cookies. Everything was very nice and cozy, at least on the surface, but at the same time, we were feeling very stressed because we knew that we weren't allowed to leave and if we tried to do so, *they* would try to stop us. We made our way out of the room and started going down a concrete stairwell to get to our level of the parking garage. One level up from where we were going to exit, we found several Scarrans at the door, watching for us. We debated whether we should continue or not, but then did the action movie jump-over-the-railing-drop-down-a-level thing in order to not have to walk right past the Scarrans. They still saw us though, and took up hot pursuit (literally). As we were running across the parking lot, we could see Eve's car ahead and ran for it, but when we got there we found that someone had broken into and vandalized it while we were inside at the convention. The locks were broken, the radio was missing and there was something wrong with the seatbelts. We got in the car anyway, but we were pretty sure we were done for, and that's when I woke up. In the dream, the seatbelt had been lying very oddly on my shoulder, and when I woke up I realized it was Thor the Massive, leaning his bulk against me while he slept. My heart was racing and I had that unpleasant tingle of nightmare running all through my veins so it took a while to settle down and go back to sleep.

I'm hoping this was an isolated incident and that the Scarrans don't add themselves to my roster of permanent nighttime companions, including tornadoes, T-rexes, and falling elevators. (I have luckily not had any of these dreams in quite a while - knock on wood.) The dream would at least have been more interesting/fun if I'd been dressed as a hobbit, lol.

Yipes! Sorry to hear about the Scarran dream :( If it happens again, you can just remember that scene where one of them farts in the elevator, and just laugh at them.

Ivy sits on my chest at night. Whenever she walks up to snuggle with me she always manages to walk right over my chest.

I'll try to keep that farting scene at the forefront of my mind, in case of further dreams, lol.

I'm definitely going through Con withdrawal, though. Last night I dreamed that Lyda Pearl and I were at a con doing the costuming thing. :)

Pray tell, how were we attired? Were we scary monsters, silly goofballs, or nearly nekid Leias?

He's very sweet. He's also very heavy. ;P

One of my cats is very bulky as well. He is actually quite strong. On many occasion he has claimed space as his own and he could push me out of the bed if he wanted to (luckily I have safety bars preventing such possibly fatal falls from the top bunk).

Pretty funny dream, as nightmares go! I hope it does not become a recurring theme, though - sounds like you already have enough of them.

It didn't get frightening until the very end, but when I woke up, I was definitely in a sweat. Luckily, my theme nightmares don't actually crop up all that often and once they've been around for a while, I stop getting freaked out by them. :)

Yeah, after a certain number of repetitions they are more familiar territory

It does sound like a frightening dream. All this talk about scarrans makes me wonder about my memory, however. Was there any specific mention of scarrans in either the HObbit, or the Lord of the Ring books. I remember the dragon in The Hobbit, but I thought he was referred to as a dragon. Or is a scarran really something different from a dragon?

The Scarran (the costume that [livejournal.com profile] eve11 made and wore) is from Farscape, not LotR, thus your inability to remember it from any of those books, lol. The Scarrans were one of the many bad guy species that chased John Crichton from one end of the universe to the other. Eve's Scarran, Pennock, looks like this (http://www.imagecreative.net/portfolio_pop27.html) in the show.

Seeing the original makes me even more impressed by Eve's re-creation. Very "lifelike".
