I got my Lost dvds yesterday and watched the two hour pilot. That's all it took to send [livejournal.com profile] lyda_pearl running from the room. Well, actually, she left after the first half, deciding the show would give her nightmares if she watched more of it.

On the other hand, I got quite a kick out of watching Mr. P circle ever closer to the tv. At first he would stand in the doorway for just long enough to see what was making whatever sound had drawn him from his office, then he stood in my room for a while, resisting all offers to sit down. Then he went back to his office, then tried to walk down the hall outside my room but ending up just standing there transfixed. Next thing I knew he was sitting on my bed, unable to turn away.

After the show ended, I could hear him in the next room, telling my sister all about it. This morning he admitted that he was hooked. He came into my room asking for my email so he could send me this New York Times article from this morning, about the show and the direction it will take this season. No real big spoilers, just a few little hints. :)

Much as the show is calling to me, I think I'm going to watch a bit of Emergency! next.

That first half hour was really something, wasn't it? I hadn't watched TV dramas for a few years, and when I saw the "Lost" pilot, I was astonished at how realistic and scary network TV had become. I couldn't believe ABC was airing this in primetime. But then I got hooked on Charlie, and...

It is amazing that Lost was able to be played at 8:00 on ABC for an entire season, and I'm not at all surprised they're moving it to a later hour. So much fun, though, even if it does have some scary moments and overtones. :D

I have some friends who think Lost is scary too. Here it airs at 930 pm and that is fine, because it is not really suitable for very young people. There is one episode of season one I haven't seen and Swedish TV is airing that next week. I am so going to see it, lol!

Which episode is it that you haven't seen?

I ended up spending the day in a marathon Lost viewing, and my sister was sucked back in. She couldn't escape, much as she might have wanted to, lol.

I haven`t seen episode 23. I have seen pictures over at ABC's lost site but not the episode.

A hearty welcome from Lost-land to Mr. P.!

Did you have a chance to watch the Extras dvd yet? I ran through the deleted scenes, like, 3 times. Also, somehow missed Claire's airport flashback both times I watched the season finale. At some point before Weds, I am going to watch the eps I missed during season 1, but I don't know exactly when that is going to happen. I think there are 4 of them. Maybe if I get up an hour early each day, and squeeze on in Tuesday evening...

Mr. P shocked me entirely yesterday. He spent a good eleven hours sitting in my room watching Lost dvds with me, lol. I may have corrupted him forever.

I'm pretty sure those flashback scenes on the bonus disc were deleted scenes, which is why you missed them in the original airing of the show. I certainly don't remember having seen either of them before. Good luck squeezing those four episodes in. I'm trying to make it all the way through but I may end up just having to watch the finale tomorrow, skipping a bunch of previous eps along the way.

I thought they may have been deleted scenes - or maybe they will be parts of season 2 eps. I really liked Claire's airport flashback - the pilot really was a nice guy. Charlie will have to include a tribute to his kindness on "Track 2, Monster Ate the Pilot".

I just got in to the office, and someone turned the AC off over the weekend, instead of just turning it down - it's over 80 in here, so I may go for a walk for a bit - can't handle this kind of stuffy heat.

You're going to be so busy watching TV! I am past the pilot and have watched two other episodes. I plan to watch more tonight, but I keep getting side-tracked by episodes of 4400 that a friend loaned me. I am now hooked on that too.

I haven't seen the 4400 yet. I suppose I'll get around to it eventually. I really debated yesterday whether to watch Lost or Emergency! but Lost won, hands down. :)
