fic challenge meme

This made the rounds a couple of weeks ago and I was too crazed and stressed to do anything with it. Things have calmed down a bit now and I thought I'd give it a go. Gacked from almost everyone.
A-- go to my LotR Fanfiction at http://www.storiesofarda.com/author.asp?AuthID=613
and pick out a line or two from one of my stories.
B-- I will respond with which story I think it's from.
C-- I'll write a scene (in this case, a ficlet of 100-400 words) for the LOTR characters of your choice with the plot point of your choice to anyone who stumps me.
D-- If I get more than ten responses, I will do the first ten ficlets who stump me.
Obviously, you'd do well to pick something challenging, but unless it's really unique, I'm going to say it should be more than five words.

Date: 2005-10-15 10:50 am (UTC)A further complication was revealed when he opened his pack and discovered that everything inside had received a thorough soaking, including the food. Things were beginning to look a bit grim. Well, he reassured himself, they still had the food in Theo’s pack, and further evaluation revealed that the fruit and cheese in his bag seemed undamaged, although the bread was soaked beyond redemption. The tea had also been destroyed but they had good stream water right in front of them so that was all right. Maybe things weren’t so bad, after all.
You know what I want the most but I'll give you a setting for it. Estella's or Merry's paretns first time of helping Merry battle Shadow on her/their own. For some reason Pip can't get away from the Smials and be with them through this.
:D
