(Wannabe) Winter Wonderland

It's snowing! Snowing with real snow (or at least heavy wet slushy stuff that looks like real snow until you touch it and see that it's just thick white water). It's done a very effective job of thoroughly covering the ground and roads, making the drive home from work a little more stressful than I was anticipating (remember I only got my license this summer - I've never driven in snow or slush or ice before). I made it safely home though and now I can sit back and enjoy the snowy show. Some reports state that we could get anywhere from 2 to 6 inches, but I'm taking heart over the fact that it's only just barely freezing and so it should all melt away as soon as it stops actually snowing.
lyda_pearl tells me that it's a saying around here, though that if there's a snow accumulation before Halloween, then there will be snow cover by Thanksgiving, which won't melt until spring. It could be an interesting winter. *grins*
