10 signs you're reading a fic by auntiemeesh (lotr):

1. It's got Merry and/or Pippin in it.
2. Pre-Quest fics are likely to be very fluffy
3. Quest and post-Quest fics are likely to be very angsty
4. Nightmares are often involved in the angst
5. Lots of c to compensate for all the h in the h/c
6. Merry stutters when he's overly stressed
7. If I promise you a drabble, you're likely to get a multi-chapter fic.
8. Very focused on what goes on inside peoples' (hobbits') heads,
9. Very little descriptiveness of physical setting,
10. Sentences are either very short and staccato, or long and rambling.

Yay!

Very little descriptiveness of physical setting,

Boy, me too. I just want to get on with the action (or dialogue).

Lots of c is a very good thing.

Isn't this a fun meme? But oh, is it hard to think of ten!

I held off doing it for while because I didn't think I'd be able to come up with anything terribly specific to *my* stories, but then once I started I ended up having to pick and choose what ten things I would use, lol.

alright, I'm an ignoramus (and read too little of your fiction): what's h/c?

h/c stands for hurt/comfort, which is a pretty common element in fanfic. A character is sick, injured, or suffering from some mental anguish, and then comfort is applied.

Oh, then a high amount of c to h is a great thing! Hurray for you!

It's Merry and Pippin and I always enjoy that combo. Plus I like the fact that you aren't afraid to try new things like that cooking show fic or the slash that I just finished reading. So include 'adventerous writing' in your list if you please.
