just a skiing fool
Jan. 26th, 2006 06:25 pmA few weeks ago,
whtmtnwmn gave me a pair of cross-country skis that someone had given to her, which were way too small for her. Luckily they fit me perfectly. Since then it's been raining one minutes, freezing the next, thawing the minute after, and I haven't had a chance to use them.
We've had a little bit of fresh snow this week, however, and
lyda_pearl also just got new skis, so we had to go out and test them. We went over to the park next door and just made a couple of big loops around the ball field. It was great fun! My body turned, the skis did not and down I went, nearly plowing my face into the snow, lol. But I hopped back up and it didn't take very long to get the hang of it. Now I can't wait to take them out on a trail and give them a real test.
We've had a little bit of fresh snow this week, however, and
