Lots of fic to read when I get home, I see. *grins* Of course, once I start reading fic, I stop *writing* fic, which means I may have to be very stern with myself. I have the next chapter of 'A Changing of Ways' sitting there, nearly done but not at all right. I should really finish that before doing anything else. And I haven't even started the new chapter of Luster yet, to send of to Pips. *bad meeshie*

Oh well. It's so much easier to just read all the wonderful stuff other folks are writing. Don't you think?

Okay, I'll try to be good and get some of my own writing done before I go into a positive orgy of fic reading. :)

Oh, indeed I do! I'd much rather be reading new fics than writing them. Unfortunately, if all of us *acted* on that, soon there would not *be* *any* new fics! What a Catch-22! If only there were some way to make new fics appear magically, then I suppose we wouldn't have to be writing them, LOL!

And really, you should get poor Pip in out of the snow!

Yes, poor Pippin, he really does need to be rescued. I'll get right to work on that. ;)

Yes, I know that song and dance. Why do you think I've not written in so very, very long? ;-) As long as you get me the next chapter by the weekend, you should have it back and ready to post by Sunday. See? You're posting a chapter a week! And that's just ONE of your stories, you prolific woman, you!

Right, now that I've got 'Ways' taken care of for this week, I can set myself down and work on 'Luster' tonight. Then tomorrow I really, really need to work on my challenge story. I think Work in Progress is going to be ignored this week. I made the mistake of getting addicted to Stargate: Atlantis fic and I feel compelled to go out and find every bit of it ever written and read it all RIGHT NOW! :)

Speaking of S:A: who is the cute little Scottish doctor? I could just listen to him all night long. What a honey-pie!

That would be Paul McGillion (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0569295/). He was at Dragon*con this summer and I really wanted to meet him, but every time I went down, he'd gone off somewhere. The rumor I heard was that he kept taking off with various women, lol. He's a bit sexier in real life than his Atlantis alter ego.

Oh, my gooooooodness! You mean there was - and may well be again - opportunity to meet that little cutie-pie? I'm going to have to go looking for more pix. I'll bet you can give me a link or two. *poke, poke* I'm hoping to be able to do a proper D*C next year; now that things are settling down I'm hoping conditions will be more conducive to being able to go and stay for a while. I'd love to find out more about this guy. Because there is NO chance I will fall into yet another fandom. Nope. No chance whatsoever. Not me. ;-)

The Unofficial Paul McGillion site (http://paulmcgillion.tjuk.net/pages/Features/ivjuly2005.htm) was the best site I could come up with. If you're looking for information about Atlantis, the best place to go is Gateworld (http://www.gateworld.net/). It's mostly SG1 but they have a link to Atlantis as well as links to BSG, Farscape and oddly enough, Lost.

I've been watching Atlantis from day one, but I've only just the past week or so totally given in to the fandom and joined a fic archive and such, so that I can totally wallow in the fic. I don't plan on writing any though, at least not in the foreseeable future. I can't write military stuff, techno babble, or action, so there isn't much left for me to do, lol.

I'm with you on the military stuff. I tried to write SF years ago and just could not wrap my fantasy-driven brain around the military stuff. I switched to straight fantasy so I can make it up as I go along. And still I can't avoid it completely. In later chapters of the ON there's a cavalry charge and big battle I have to do right and I've always had the most trouble with that. And it's been tweaked like a hundred thousand times. *sigh*

Thanks for the links! I knew I could count on you! I'll go there straightaway. :-)

Maybe it really is a lazy gene. It sounds like you think you have it, too! :) However, your desire to read others' fan fic doesn't sound like laziness to me. It just sounds like taking some time to re-charge your batteries. So, I hope you ended up having a lovely day reading to your heart's content.

Happy Our Mom's Birthday to you and all the other members of Sisters of Auntiemeesh!

I suppose I should have called Mom yesterday. Oops! I'll have to do that tonight. I am a bad daughter, putting my fanfic writing ahead of my parent's birthday.

Think of it this way - you are making her special day last longer! You can tell her that you assumed that like [profile] whtmtnwmn she was celebrating her birthday for a week!
