Merry Monday
Feb. 20th, 2006 02:10 pmI've been reminded that it is Merry Monday. I've been neglecting our lads rather frightfully the past few weeks so I thought I'd better do something about that. I was also feeling a bit guilty about neglecting 'Luster', so this is set within the confines of that story, although a bit ahead of where we've gotten to so far.
"Who is she?"
"Who is who?" Merry asked, half-dozing by Pippin's bedside.
"The lass." Pippin was half asleep as well, having just finished drinking his tonic.
"What lass?" Merry asked in exasperation, wondering if the tonic was causing Pip to hallucinate.
"The lass that you've been mooning about for days," Pippin replied, smiling sleepily at Merry's spluttered denials.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Merry asserted, forcing the image of a plump and pretty shop attendent out of his mind.
Pippin hauled his heavy eyes open to give his cousin a long, incredulous stare. "You bought Mum tacky glass mushrooms, Merry. I repeat, who's the lass?"
A slow smile spread across Merry's face but instead of answering, he closed his eyes. "Go to sleep, Pippin," he ordered.
"You'll not get off that easily," Pippin answered, words slowing and slurring as the tonic worked on him. "I'll find out...some...day."
Merry waited but there was no more. Pippin had succumbed to the tonic and was deeply asleep within minutes. Settling back in his chair, Merry allowed sleep to take him as well, the memory of a plump and bonny lass working in a glass shop his last thought.

But I like your hobbit stories!
Date: 2006-02-22 05:35 am (UTC)I really enjoy your stories when I take the time to read them. I just feel a bit as if I've journeyed into foreign territory - not so much while reading the stories, but certainly while reading the commits. Perhaps I just need to create a new identity for myself, something like ani_no_baggins. Whatdya think?
