Okay, well I intended to write drabbles yesterday, and I even did, sort of. I got two finished and I'm going to work on more today.
topaztook wanted something about Merry and his book of herblore. This is possibly not exactly what you were hoping for, but it's what came out.
Tired
Estella rolled over into the cold spot that should have been warmed by her husband. Blinking sleepily, she took a moment to absorb Merry's absence before slipping out of bed and pulling on her dressing gown. She was pretty sure she knew where he was.
A light flickering under the door to the Master's study confimed her guess. Stepping inside, she found Merry slumped over his desk, notes on herblore scattered across the cluttered surface.
Even as she gently woke him and led him to bed, she wistfully dreamed of a day when he paid such devotion to her again.
lil_banik_slave asked for Hetty Wainthropp, preferably Geoffrey angst. This takes place sometime in the first season.
The Waiting Game
Geoffrey sat on the bed, staring at the door. "You be the bait," Mrs. Wainthropp had said. "Just sit in this room and wait." The person who had kidnapped Lilly Baker and Jamie Burton would be unable to resist, she was sure. So here he sat and waited.
An hour went by and then two, with Geoffrey twiddling his thumbs and trying to be relaxed. When the knock came, he jumped, momentarily unable to control his anxiety.
Mr. and Mrs. Wainthropp were in place, he reassured himself, and would move in as soon as he gave the signal.
"Come in."

Date: 2006-05-23 09:09 pm (UTC)Step one: Turn off the computer.
Step two: Unplug computer.
Step three: Hide the computer.
Step four: Pace around the house restlessly.
Step five: Frantically pull computer out of hiding, plug it back in, and turn it on. Glue self to computer and promise to never do such a horrible thing again.
Step six: Admit that addiction to fanfic is a healthy, well-adjusted means of community building and leave it at that.
Okay, maybe a six step program.
