Nov. 3rd, 2004 10:40 amGah! Well, at least we won Pennsylvania. I feel good knowing that my vote helped the state swing in the proper direction, even if the rest of the country goes the other way.
All in all, it's been pretty discouraging to see the way the election has been going. Can you believe that people had to wait in line for upwards of ten hours in places? How absurd is that? There's been a huge fuss about provisional votes here in Pittsburgh. They won't get counted until Friday. And it's expected that the lawyers will contest probably half of them.
I was honestly shocked at how many states voted to ban gay marriages. I don't know why I'm shocked, really, but I just keep expecting people to be better than that.
Well, I think I'll join
pipspebble in New Zealand for the next four years. Maybe next time around, there will be a stronger Democratic candidate to vote for, one who can really rally everyone. I'll keep hoping.
