endings and beginnings
Jan. 4th, 2009 10:03 pmMy two weeks of vacation are just about over. Tomorrow I head back to work. Just as well, really. I've spent the better part of the past week just lazing about inside, catching up on fic reading, playing with the cats (well, Mal mostly, as Tookie sleeps, eats and watches us two being silly with a superior cat smirk) and vaguely thinking I should go buy groceries or take a walk or something, without ever doing any of those things.
I was very determined to not renew my Match subscription, but it was on auto payment and I didn't catch it in time. However, I did get an email from someone right before Christmas and we're in the beginning stages of the do-we-want-to-go-on-a-date dance, so I'll hold off on trying to fix things a little longer. After all, it would be kind of nice to start off the new year with dating rather than not-dating.
I've been reading the
sga_santa fics and there are some really good ones in there. A surprising number of good ones, in fact. Including some really good, long (as in more than 50,000 words), plotty fics. Several really good AUs and lots of lovely teaminess.
Now I'm getting caught up on all the tv I missed over the past month or so. Seems I've gotten out of the habit of actually turning the tv on and watching the shows when they're airing, so thank goodness for networks that make episodes available (and downloads for when the shows aren't available at the network sites).
