Okay, clearly I need to relax and slow down just a little bit.

I was feeling disappointed at how long it takes me to walk the two and a half miles (2.63 to be exact) to work in the morning and decided I needed to push just a little harder. Luckily someone came along and offered me a ride halfway up Forbes Ave, because I was only half way and already completely covered in sweat. Which is fine if you're working out, but not so fine when you're going to work with other people, lol. It's also less than useful when you still have a long day and another 2 1/2 mile walk home afterwards.

So the goal is to stop stressing over the fact that I'm not achieving a fifteen minute mile, and just walk - I was issued a standing offer of a ride any day I wanted it, but I really do need the exercise.

Yahoo is acting up today. I've been having lots of trouble getting in to my email. For once the problem seems to lie with them and not my computer as I can't get my email from the work computer either. Stupid Yahoo.

If you're walking five miles a day, it doesn't matter how long it's taking you to do it -- you're getting your exercise!

*wow! am impressed*

I need to remember how wiped I feel at the end of the day and not push myself so hard, but that's hard to do because I have this stupid competitive streak in me. When I see someone else walking ahead of me I get this insane need to go faster than them. (Luckily this insanity seems to be an on-foot only thing - it's never come up when I'm driving). Considering I wasn't walking at all last year, I should give myself a little more time to adjust to walking as much as I am before worrying about how fast I'm going.

*sigh* I gave up on Yahoo some time ago. Do you want a Gmail account? I can send you an invite.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's having trouble with Yahoo. I thought maybe our network was acting up and of course our computer guy is on vacation this week.

I always just assume it's some new problem with my computer, but once it's on the work comp. too, then I feel better.
