Running = good, weight loss = impossible
Jul. 3rd, 2012 09:45 amI'm looking forward to having tomorrow off. Not that I have any plans or anything - I'll have to see if team leader is going to Sandcastle. Maybe I could play in the water and count it as exercise. It would certainly be a more pleasant way to move around than walking anywhere in the heatwave.
I went to the gym this morning and had a good two mile run. 21 min, 24 seconds, which is pretty nearly the best I've done since getting back to running this time around. I miss doing a three mile run, but I do like having enough energy at the end of the day to actually get my poor little body home. So, the run was good. The weigh-in, not so much. I made the mistake of weighing myself last Thursday (I really try to only weigh myself once a week, on the first gym trip) and I didn't lose any weight since then. It was still down a pound from last Tuesday, but that whole pound came off early in the week. So I went back to the beginning with the calorie calculator and downgraded my activity levels and got a new calorie limit. It's not a pretty one. But I know I can do it, because I often come in lower than the new limit, and then allow myself a little piece of chocolate because I thought I still had room. Looks like I'll have to be really careful if I want to continue having that little piece of Dove chocolate every day. And I gotta say, some days, that little piece of chocolate is the only joy I get in the whole day, so I have to make sure I still get it.
Bah! I'm feeling very discouraged at the moment, but I know I just have to keep plugging away and eventually I will reach my goals. It just might take longer than I'd hoped, but that's nothing new. I will get there in the end!
