[livejournal.com profile] ani_no_mouse came down from Grove City for the afternoon and a good time was had by (hopefully) all. After watching a bit of Penguins hockey (the best bit of the game, where they managed to come back from a bad deficit to almost tie the game up) we headed out to the Waterfront for some shopping. I had to make some work-related purchases, which meant Michaels' and Lowe's, and then Michaels' again. I got a little black pot and a bunch of foam stickers at Michaels' and then hit Lowe's for seed planting purposes. They had the potting soil but apparently didn't plan on every teacher in the area stopping by to pick up tiny terra cotta flower pots for school activities. There were none left by the time we got there. But ANM suggested we check back at Michaels' and luckily they had just enough!

After a diverting experience at IHOP (let's just say I won't be recommending this particular branch to anyone, ever), we finished up the shopping portion of our afternoon at Barnes & Noble. I wanted some non-fiction, maybe about the history of NASA. What I eventually ended up with was two Doctor Who novels (Shada: The Lost Adventure by Douglas Adams, by Gareth Roberts, and Ten Little Aliens, a First Doctor novel by Stephen Cole), The Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul by Douglas Adams, and two Doctor Who DVDs (2nd Doctor in The Moonbase, and the 8th Doctor in his movie, which I've never seen). I spent an absurd amount of money but now have plenty to entertain me for a good while.

Shopping successfully accomplished, we came back to my place and had not one but two kinds of pie (milk and pumpkin) for a combo celebration of my birthday and Pi Day. My belly is very full, but very happy!
